1. Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture completed the 2014 monitoring and statistical work on veterinary drug residues in livestock and poultry products. A total of 13,224 batches of livestock and poultry products were tested for veterinary drug residues throughout the year, with 13,219 batches passing, resulting in a pass rate of 99.9%.
2. Recently, the Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture held a seminar on the legislation of the Veterinary Law in Beijing to discuss the objects of legal adjustment, the basic framework, and the main systems.
3. From January 26th to 29th, the China Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center held a preliminary review meeting for the 2015 Practicing Veterinarian Qualification Examination Outline in Beijing, reviewing and approving the examination outline, and compiling a two-way detailed table, a question type and quantity distribution table, and an examination paper blueprint.
4. Recently, the Chongqing Municipal Agriculture Committee issued the "2015 Veterinary Work Key Points," deciding to implement a "supervision-based exemption, inspection-based remuneration" assessment mechanism, establish a harmless treatment mechanism for diseased and dead livestock and poultry, and promote a "based on monitoring (inspection) reports or risk assessment reports" origin quarantine system and a "double signature" system for animal origin quarantine shipped out of the city, etc.
5. Recently, the Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture organized the compilation of the "National Veterinary Drug Product Traceability System Video Training Tutorial" and distributed it to provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) for training on the national veterinary drug product traceability system.
6. On January 27th, the Ministry of Agriculture launched the first batch of counterfeit veterinary drug crackdowns in 2015, requiring local veterinary administrative departments to investigate and deal with 4 illegal veterinary drug production enterprises and 227 batches of counterfeit veterinary drugs.
7. From January 19th to 30th, the Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture dispatched 5 research teams to 10 provinces (municipalities) including Hebei, Liaoning, and Jiangsu to conduct research on veterinary public health supervision and law enforcement work.
8. Recently, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region issued an implementation plan for the immunization of brucellosis in dairy cows and sheep, starting brucellosis immunization from 2015. Gansu Province introduced a management method for subsidies for the culling of livestock brucellosis, mandating the culling of dairy cows and sheep infected with brucellosis and providing certain subsidies to promote brucellosis eradication work.
9. Recently, the Shandong Provincial Price Bureau and the Finance Department have re-determined the charging standards for the practicing veterinarian qualification examination. The examination fee for veterinary general category has been changed from the original 65 yuan per person per subject to 51 yuan, while the standards for aquatic animal category and clinical skills examination remain unchanged, namely 60 yuan per person per subject and 160 yuan per person respectively. This standard will be implemented from February 1, 2015, and will be valid until January 31, 2018.
10. In 2014, national animal health supervision agencies implemented origin quarantine for 11.628 billion heads (animals, birds) of livestock and poultry, and conducted harmless treatment for 3.4738 million heads (animals, birds) of diseased livestock and poultry that were detected.
11. Recently, the Jilin Provincial Animal Health Supervision Institute and the Jilin Provincial Animal Husbandry Management Bureau have launched a breeding version based on the official veterinary version of "Animal Monitoring e-Pass," providing breeding households with customized services for quarantine declaration, harmless treatment subsidy verification, breeding technology, disease prevention and control, policy regulations, price trends, industry news, and other types of information.
12. On January 21st, the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Commerce officially transferred the municipal-level swine slaughter supervision responsibilities to the Municipal Agriculture Committee. On January 29th, the Municipal Agriculture Committee held a city-wide livestock and poultry slaughter industry management meeting to deploy a series of special rectification actions to crack down on illegal slaughter, ensuring that the supervision work is carried out in an orderly manner, seamlessly connected, and smoothly transitioned.
13. Since January 1, 2014, Anhui Province has provided subsidies to rural veteran veterinarians who meet the identity identification conditions and are 60 years old or older, at a standard of 20 yuan per year of service, paid monthly.
