The Ministry of Agriculture issued a notice on the 5th, requiring all levels of agricultural departments to further strengthen the monitoring and analysis of animal epidemics abroad, focusing on strengthening the tracking and monitoring of imported breeding pigs, expanding the detection scope of domestic pig populations, increasing the intensity of sampling monitoring in slaughter and circulation links, and promptly investigating and eliminating epidemic risks.
The notice requires all levels of agricultural departments to strictly implement various epidemic prevention systems such as epidemic reporting and immunization, further increase comprehensive prevention and control measures such as pig farm disinfection, quarantine, and harmless treatment; strictly manage animal epidemic prevention conditions, control personnel, vehicles, and goods entering and leaving pig farms, and strengthen self-protection for swine farmers and veterinary personnel.
At the same time, strengthen quarantine supervision in the production, slaughter, circulation, and storage links, strictly prevent the sale of diseased and dead pigs, implement strict harmless treatment of diseased and dead pigs, and ensure the safety of pork consumption on the market.
The notice also requires local agricultural departments to focus on both epidemic prevention and control and the stabilization of swine production. In response to the severe situation of falling pork prices, strengthen the monitoring and release of swine production data, fully implement various policies to promote the stable development of swine production, coordinate and timely launch relevant measures of the control plan to prevent excessive declines in pork prices, and strive to stabilize pork prices.
Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture will dispatch a supervisory team to high-risk areas again to supervise and guide prevention and control work based on the monitoring and epidemiological investigation of the H1N1 influenza epidemic in the previous stage.
